Old Testament names meant something profound, and were not chosen lightly. The Lord directed me to preach Matthew 1:1-17, looking at what each person's name meant. This is the confirmed genealogy of Jesus Christ.

This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of BELOVED, the son of MULTITUDE:
2 MULTITUDE was the father of LAUGHTER,
LAUGHTER the father of HEEL,
HEEL the father of PRAISE and his brothers,
3 PRAISE the father of A BREACH and RISING, whose mother was PALM TREE,
BREACH the father of ENCLOSED,
ENCLOSED the father of HIGH & EXALTED,
4 HIGH & EXALTED the father of MY KINSMAN IS NOBLE,
MY KINSMAN IS NOBLE the father of ENCHANTER,
ENCHANTER the father of GARMENT,
5 GARMENT the father of STRENGTH, whose mother was WIDE,
STRENGTH the father of SERVING, whose mother was FRIENDSHIP,
SERVING the father of WEALTHY,
6 and WEALTHY the father of King BELOVED.
BELOVED was the father of PEACE, whose mother had been LIGHT OF JEHOVAH’s wife,
7 PEACE the father of A PEOPLE HAS ENLARGED,
A PEOPLE HAS ENLARGED the father of JEHOVAH IS FATHER,
JEHOVAH IS FATHER the father of HEALER,
8 HEALER the father of JEHOVAH HAS JUDGED,
JEHOVAH HAS JUDGED the father of JEHOVAH IS EXALTED,
JEHOVAH IS EXALTED the father of, MY STRENGTH IS JEHOVAH
9 MY STRENGTH IS JEHOVAH the father of JEHOVAH IS UPRIGHT,
JEHOVAH IS UPRIGHT the father of POSSESSORS,
POSSESSORS the father of THE MIGHT OF JEHOVAH,
10 THE MIGHT OF JEHOVAH the father of FORGETTING,
FORGETTING the father of BUILDER,
BUILDER the father of WHOM JEHOVAH HEALS,
11 and WHOM JEHOVAH HEALS the father of WHOM JEHOVAH ESTABLISHES and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.
12 After the exile to Babylon:
WHOM JEHOVAH ESTABLISHES was the father of I HAVE ASKED OF GOD,
I HAVE ASKED OF GOD the father of BORN AT BABYL(ON),
13 BORN AT BABYLON the father of MY FATHER IS MAJESTY,
MY FATHER IS MAJESTY the father of GOD RAISES,

JUST the father of THE LORD WILL ESTABLISH,
